United Way's Awards Event and Celebration 2017

On Thursday, June 29th the United Way of Montgomery, Radford and Floyd recognized local businesses, individual donors, and volunteers who supported the organization throughout the 2016-2017 campaign year. A celebratory lunch was held for 100 attendees at HazelBea Catering’s dining room in Radford, and was sponsored by Union Bank & Trust.

Guests enjoyed fried chicken and pork BBQ sliders along with other delicious sides and desserts. United Way Executive Director, Kymn Davidson-Hamley and President of the Board of Directors, Adam Alexander, presented awards to 22 companies and individuals. One of the top and most distinguished volunteer awards, the Karen Cronin Community Volunteer Award, was presented to Jill Colby of Dental Aid Partners of the NRV. While we have accomplished so much there are many more families each day that walk through a charity’s doors for the very first time in the New River Valley. The needs are here, but thankfully you are also here, and we thank you for understanding what it truly means to reach out to your neighbors. Our work helping others is valuable, our work with our partners is life changing, and when each of us in this room and community unite…. We make the New River Valley a better place. Thank you all for being the embodiment of real care and concern for our community.”

Please join United Way in thanking these outstanding companies and individuals who make a world of difference in the New River Valley.
